A Photo Album of Ireland exhibition – Sioux City Museum, Iowa, November 2016 – January 2017.
Sioux City is the first stop for this U.S. national touring exhibit. The new touring exhibition emerges from an ongoing democratic archive that is a celebration of ordinary and extraordinary histories, viewed from the perspective of private individuals and families. From the earliest photographs taken in the 1850s to the advent of the digital era in the 1990s, these images reveal details about how people lived, worked and gathered that official historical records may have overlooked.
Located in the heart of downtown Sioux City, the Sioux City Public Museum features large, colorful exhibits, interactive displays, and much more. This state-of-the-art facility in downtown Sioux City features hand-on exhibits and interactive displays of local and regional history.
The launch event took place on Wednesday 14th December 2016. Curator Trish Lambe travelled to the U.S. for the launch.
Exhibition talk: History at High Noon event took place on Thursday 15th December.
