My husband, Barry Murphy, and I moved to Canada in the Fall of 2011. We are originally from Tralee, Co. Kerry. We met during secondary school at the tender age of 15 and have been together ever since.
Once it was time to go to university in 2005, Barry attended University College Cork studying Engineering while I attended University College Dublin studying Law. We lived apart thereafter and decided to seize the opportunity of an adventure in Canada when the Irish construction company Barry worked for offered him a transfer here.
We haven’t looked back and nearly ten years later, we are well settled in our home in Toronto with our two children, Lochlainn (8) and Eleanor (2). Barry continues to work for the same company (Ward and Burke Microtunnelling Ltd.), while I was called to the bar in Ontario in 2016 and work as a litigation lawyer at Rogers Partners LLP in Downtown Toronto.
