Kiang Family Album
Family photographs belonging to Trudi Kiang ( née Kaczmarek) of her grandmother and great grandmother taken in Germany and Switzerland. The collection also includes photographs of Tanya’s father Tao Kiang (Jiang Tao) who was born in 1929 in Yangzhou, China.
Tao was sent to Europe at the age of 15 and did not to return to China for 20 years. He married Trudi Kaczmarek in 1958 and went on to become Chief Astronomer at Dunsink Observatory, Dublin. The collection includes family photographs taken at Dunsink Observatory, informal family photographs and black and white photographs of Tanya’s year in China where she went to teach in the 1980’s.
