Tommy McCourt hanging out the washing in the back garden of his home in Culhane Street, Dundalk

Tommy McCourt hanging out the washing. Tommy was a proud red head. His wife Frances was a keen gardener. He was a furniture dealer and upholsterer by trade with a shop and workshop in Yorke Street, Dundalk. Many people bought their furniture by hire/purchase or ‘on the drip’ . Tommy was not adverse to pushing a pram or helping around the house. Every weekend he brought his wife breakfast on a tray.
